Preacher, musician, choir director, songwriter, producer are all titles that describe Minister Eddie Anthony Robinson.  He is a native of Williston, SC and a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he majored in Music.   

He relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1999 to lead the Music Ministry of New Mount Olive Baptist Church, pastored by giant pulpiteer, Dr. Mack King Carter. He leads the Music, Worship and Celebrative Arts Ministry which consists of nearly 500 persons involved in choir, drama, dance, usher, hospitality and special event ministries.   His presence in South Florida is widely recognized as he has united choirs and churches in the community together to present inspiring music. One of his signature events is the “Late Night Musicals” celebrating the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day holidays.  Singers and lovers of gospel music travel great distances to the New Mount Olive Church in great anticipation of these 10:00 PM musicals that feature some of the finest talent in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade Counties.   He is the visionary and producer of “A Black Noel”, the Fort Lauderdale African- American Christmas Spectacular which features the Christmas narrative told from an African- American perspective employing dance, drama and music.  The event, based at New Mount Olive, brings together talent from various community churches.  This event has grown over the years and has been aired on ABC local television and the WORD network ..

He is a noted songwriter, choir director and musician.  He is a member of the Thomas Dorsey National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses where he has served as National Youth Organist and National Minister of Music for Youth and Young Adult Department.  He is an award-winning songwriter in this convention having received the coveted "Song of the Year" and "Director of the Year" honors during several conventions. Presently, in the Dorsey Convention, he serves on the Music Cabinet in the Alumni Chorale, National Organist, National Music Director for the Alumni Chorale and serves as an instructor and administrator in the Artelia Hutchins Training Institute. He is a member of the Hampton University Minister's Conference Choir Directors and Organists Guild and The Gospel Music Workshop of America.  Minister Robinson’s versatility as a church musician has gained him local and national attention. He is a founding member of the Music Auxiliary of the National Baptist Convention, USA where he has taught for several years.

Minister Robinson is no stranger to gospel music.  Noted for his traditional church sound, Minister Robinson is a sought after workshop clinician and songwriter. He has written nearly 200 songs several of which have been recorded. He has served as a principal songwriter for Stellar Award Winner, Dottie Peoples and the Peoples Chorale of Atlanta.  He is known for such songs as "Happy in Jesus”, “He Meant It for My Good”, “Just One More Day”,  “First Class Physician”, “Begin Again”, “You Spared My Life”, “ All My Help”, “Compassion” ,“Pray Until Something Happens” and on her recently released  recording, “Hallelujah, Jesus” and most recently, “My Meditation of Him”.  He is also the co-writer of the Stellar Award Winning 1996 Song of the Year "On Time God." He has written for and recorded with the Gospel Music Workshop of America Mass Choir (What He’s Done, 1998; Jesus is his name, 2000; Changed, 2001; I Know Who I am, 2002). Many of his songs have charted #1 on top ten play lists for various radio stations throughout the country.  His second recording project, “Singing Hallelujah All Day”, featured the Voices of Mount Olive and has been on the top ten play list in several major gospel markets around the country.  His latest recording, “I Still Remember”, featuring his community choir, The Voices of South Florida” has charted in various radio markets throughout the country.  Recently, he recorded New Mount Olive’s  music ministry. The release date is May 2006. He is also solo project slated to be record a solo project in  his native South Carolina in  March 2006 on For His Name’s Sake Records.

He was received the coveted James Cleveland Award of Excellence from The Miami Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop in 2004.

Minister Robinson is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.  

It is Minister Robinson’s desire to continue writing and producing songs that will minister to the hearts of God’s people and to continue the legacy of traditional gospel choral music.
